There are some forums and chat channels that have a respectable number of females. #
kodocha@irc.efnet.net has plenty of female users who are really into anime. I had to pretty much abandon that channel after saying something nasty about people in AA and getting into a horrible fight over it, and not having the guts to see it through to the end. Wimpy me. In general, the chat there is pretty good.
