From an Australian magazine PC Powerplay:
"A prologue for the game sees humanity defeat the Scrin invaders - but the prize is a planet riddled with Tiberium and on the verge of total environmental collapse.
And onto this apocalyptic stage strides Kane, once more. Not dead, of course not dead, he instead proposes somethign radical: an alliance between Nod and GDI. With his knowledge and GDI's industrial output, Kane says he can control Tiberium, stabilise the Earth, and give humanity a future. Yes, that's just in the prologue.
Flash forward 15 years, and the world is enjoying the benefits of Kane's Tiberium Control Network. It's a new Golden Age, is what it is, a utopia of gleaming cities, cheap cars, and low taxes.
But is everything as it seems? Some still question Kane's ultimate motives. Who is he? What does he REALLY want? And what of The Forgotten, that tribe of humans heavily mutated by Tiberium?
Stress within the alliance build, and soon enough fractures appear. Nod and GDI are set against each other once again, and as the brushfires turn to pitched battles and war looms once more, it becomes apparent that Kane's new world is little more than a house of cards."
