I never know a town named "Wenchuan" before the earthquake.
May 12th 2008, the local time was 14:30, I was working in company. Suddenly, Miss Chen got a phone call from her mother. She said that there is an earthquake happening in somewhere.
Where is the earthquake centre? I checked up by search engine and found out that the earthquake centre is in a town named "Wenchuan", it is located in Province Sichuan. The town is about 150 kms to Chengdu the Province Centre.
What an accident! I live in Shanghai, over more than 1000 kms to Province Sichuan. Even there is a shake in the centre of Shanghai.
The report show that the level is 7.8, the same as the earthquake in Tangshan in 1976. The house falled down and over 50,000 persons lost. It is reported that over 12,000 of them were killed. Since the rain fall down immediately, and there are even some more earthquakes today, 11 of 1147 times are over Level 6.0. The rescue works becomes harder and harder.
As far as I remember, 32 years ago in Tangshan, the earthquake resulted 2 million dead because it was happened in the midnight. But this time, it happened in the work time. There is a report that when the earthquake strike Wenchuan town. The high school students was in class, and there is no time for them to leave the building. There are 400 students in school, and when the earthquake striking, the building fall down and over 300 students were killed.
It is said that there is no signal before the earthquake. The animals didn't feel any strange before the earthquake, mice, monkeys, pandas and the other animals are just like normal. Even there is no one see the blue light.
Now I pray for those who lost their family and they still live in a place that the safety is unknown, the disaster will finally leave you.

No this one happening. Why there are so many weird things happened before the Olympic Games? The snow in January the violent in April and the earthquake in May......
We, Chinese are the host of this Olympic Games, the Olympic Games mean the peace. But why? Why? Why there are so many weird things? Chinese believe that "8" is a fortune number, so the Olympic Games will be opened in Augest 8th. But it seems that the heaven wants to punish us. What's wrong with Chinese?

The China rescue team. They found the trapped children, but the children have already gone. (The words "救援" on the team members uniforms mean "rescue")

i think this is the same 'incident' i saw in the news... it was quite heartbreaking to see, but what is even worse is the fact that most of the buildings that crashed to the ground were built with substandard materials...

Yes, it seems that most of the buildings which were crushed were schools and factories. In our country, buildings should be build as level 8 earthquake resistant. If this is the stardard, those buildings cannot be crushed. So the first reason why there are more than 50,000 person killed in this disaster is the substandard materials.
Secondly, the traffic there is not convenient is another reason. It takes 7 days for the rescue team to reach the field. This means they missed the best chance to rescue. 7 days, without food and drink, only those who are strong or lucky can survive.
